This review is coming several months after I’ve read Annihilation, the first installment ofJeff VanderMeer’s Southern Reach Trilogy, but I thought it was about time I got around to reviewing it. The books in this collection have been getting quite a bit of buzz and has won the 2014 Nebula for Best Novel, the 2014 … More Book Review: Annihilation
I’m months behind in writing my book reviews, and while I feel like I should finish my older reviews first, I couldn’t help but jump in to the current discussion surrounding Ernest Cline’s latest novel, Armada. Before I start my review, I feel the need to state that I am a huge Ready Player One fan. I … More Book Review: Armada

New patterns abound! The fall patterns are starting to show up at McCall’s, Simplicity, as well as the latest My Image magazine. Overall I have to say I’m most excited about the Simplicity releases, so let’s start there: Gotta love all the seam lines on this new Amazing Fit pattern! Also loving the retro flare … More New Patterns: McCall’s, Simplicity, My Image
The craziness of the competitive skating season is here, which means I’ve been doing a lot of sewing, but not a lot of posting. There have been several pattern releases, including the July Burda, which, I have to say, is probably my favorite issue of the year so far. And that’s saying something about the … More Magazine Review: July Burda
