Monthly Sewing Review – 2026 September Wrap Up

September has felt like both a very fast and very slow month. It feels like I haven’t spent as much time sewing as I would have expected, but I actually did finish a few projects and have a few more in progress. The past few weeks have been very busy at work, and I haven’t had much energy to work on things in the evening, so I’m actually a bit surprised how much I got done at the start of the month.

Sewing Progress

This month I was able to finish a first version of the Make Bra Ulla Sport and the Make Bra Sew Comfy Bra, as well as cut out a few additional pattern for my next projects. I’m planning to write full reviews for these patterns after a few more wear tests and after making another version of the Sew Comfy. I also helped my sister with her Halloween costume. I won’t be doing a full review on this, but I did use the Urban Threads Foxy Mask free standing lace design to make a version for my sister. She is going to finish it off so that it can be worn, but it was fun to make something on the embroidery machine again… even if it did take several hours to stitch out.

Sewing Delays

I did have one relatively short trip this month, but I wouldn’t call it a delay really. I think it’s mostly been that I’ve had pretty low energy, and so I’ve been spending my time doing things that aren’t requiring as much energy or focus after some rather intense work days.

Finished Projects

Despite the general craziness at the end of September, I was able to finish the Ulla Sport and the Sew Comfy Bra earlier this month. I’m not 100% happy with this version of the Ulla (I’ll go more in depth when I get around to posting a review), but the Sew Comfy is great. I think my second version might be even better. Both of these have some interesting design features, and I’m hoping to have several pattern reviews to post soon.

WIPs & Upcoming Plans

I currently have two projects cut out – another Make Bra DL02 and a second Make Bra Sew Comfy bra. I’ve also got a few mending projects and several patterns ready to test. I did sign up for another Fit Clinic next month, so I know I’ll be doing more sewing than this month for sure. Right now my travel plans for October are minimal, though things pick up again in November. I keep saying I want to move back to sewing things in addition to undergarments, and I’ve got a few things in mind, though my sewing plans are, as always, much more extensive than my time to execute them. But I’m hoping I have a bit more time and a bit more energy in October, so I’ll see how much I can work on then.
