The latest collection from Vogue patterns is here, and it is awesome. Seriously, I think I want to buy almost everything. Which is bad because I’m running out of storage space for my patterns. But there is so much good stuff! Well, a lot of pretty stuff anyway. I’m really excited, in case you couldn’t tell. Let me show you why:
V1475 – Badgley Mischka. Love this! So elegant. It looks great in the sequins, but it would look fantastic in a velvet or jersey too.
V1474 – Tom and Linda Platt. The front of this gown is pretty standard, but the draped detail on the back is lovely.
V1480 – Donna Karen. Love this snazzy alternative to a gown. It could also be a really great casual piece in a different fabric.
V1468 – Nicola Finetti. I like the usage of color blocking here.
V1469 – Lialia by Julia Alarcon. Pipping + pockets = perfection.
V1470 – Tom and Linda Platt. Really like the casual sophisticated vibe here.
V1471 – Nicola Finetti. Similar to styles we’ve seen before, but it is still a nice silhouette.
V1472 – Zandra Rhodes. I can’t say I would wear it, but it is an interesting use of volume. I could see the top being a good layering piece though.
V1473 – Belville Sassoon. Another style I don’t think I would wear, but I’m oddly fond of in the photo. Maybe I’m just excited by the pretty lace and bright color.
V1477 – Today’s Fit by Sandra Betzina. The internet has informed me that the twist top trend is over, but I still like it.
V1478 – Today’s Fit by Sandra Betzina. The wooly coat is a bit much, but I am a fan of the longer version.
V1479 – Isaac Mizrahi. Nice classic looking coat without too much seaming detail.
V9145 – Claire Shaeffer. Love the interesting use of different colors here. I really want to sew this just for the fun of sewing this pattern.
V9146 – Very Easy Vogue. Basic dress, but a flattering style.
V9147 – Very Easy Vogue.
V9148 – I really like this one. Interesting use of a twist detail.
V9149 – A/B, C, D cup sizing. Love this dress. Very simple/classic style, but Vogue did a great job of choosing fabric and styling.
V9150 – Really like this too! I’m picturing it in a fun ponte knit print, or with some cool color blocking.
V9151 – Very Easy Vogue.
V9152 – Love the collar treatment here.
V9153 – Marcy Tilton. Interesting take on the voluminous top trend.
V9154 – The asymmetric version is interesting, but the short version (view A) would be great for layering with tights in the winter.
V9155 – Nice classic trousers.
V9156 – Very Easy Vogue. Interesting collar with simple lines.
V9157 – A/B, C, D cup sizing. WANT! This coat is totally drool worth. I want one in every length, and the cup sizing is going to make fitting so easy!
V9158 – Very Easy Vogue.
V9159 – Very Easy Vogue. Ok, I think the matching tunic and pants is a bit pajama-ish, but I’m picturing the top over some solid black leggings, some boots, maybe with a belt… I dunno. I think it has potential.
V9160 – The jumpsuit has definitely been a trend this year, but I’m not sure how I feel about this one.
V9161 – Marcy Tilton.
V9162 – Kathryn Brenne. I don’t know how I feel about having all of these pieces in the same look, but they could be good to mix with other pieces in a wardrobe.
V9163 – Vogue Wardrobe. I really like the hoodie/jacket. Looks easy to make and wear.
V9164 – Kathryn Brenne. Might be fun to make a clutch to go with one of the designer gowns for a big holiday party.
V9165 – Mary Jo Hiney. These jewelry boxes look a bit old fashioned, but it might be fun to use the basic patterns to make something a but more updated as gifts. It is interesting because we haven’t had a lot of crafty patterns from Vogue recently.
And that’s it! So, what do you all think? Are you ooohing and aaaahing over the designer patterns like I am? Or are all of these dresses completely impractical and thus not really interesting for someone looking to increase their pattern stash? Feel free to discuss the highs and lows in the comments!

I was a bit underwhelmed by the whole collection which goes to show we are all different or maybe I just have too many patterns already that I don’t see anything new here. I do however really like the dress 9148 with the drape twist thing going on at the front – no surprise there – and will add that to my list.

I love this release too. 9149 &9151 really sing to me. Miss 15 fell for 9162, mostly because of the fabric.

I like this collection, and will be making the Sandra Betzina long dress with the twist. Dress+leggings is my uniform in the winter.

V1480 Okay, I’m going to come out and say. Dear Donna Karan don’t put a big red blotch as a detail right at the crotch of a dress. Ick.

I think you mean the 1468 Nicola Finetti. 1480 is the sequin top and pants. But I totally agree with your sentiment.
