Due to the magic of post scheduling, it’s been quite some time since I missed the date for my end of month wrap-up post. The fact that I never even got June’s post into draft mode speaks to the level of insanity that was the month of June. A lot of it was planned travel, but there was also a few unexpected health related family things that came up, so the end of June really felt like a whirlwind.
Sewing Progress
I don’t think I made much progress on any sewing projects in June, other than a few Cricut t-shirts I made for others. I’m hoping I’ll have more progress in July, even if I expect it will mostly be towards the end of the month.
Sewing Delays
I was traveling a lot during the end of May and all of June, and while I do think I can move into travel mode pretty easily at this point, I have to admit I find it takes me a while to get back into the rhythm of daily life. June really did feel like a whirlwind of other obligations, and at this point I’ve sort of accepted that I just don’t get a lot of sewing time from April through July. The forced break does let me reassess my sewing goals and think about the things I want to work on during the second half of the year though.
Finished Projects
Nothing new to share; I’m hoping to get back to my sewing projects and plans during July.
WIPs & Upcoming Plans
I am hoping to get a few more neutral DL02’s in to wear with lightweight summer clothing before I go back to my other projects. I do want to continue my undergarment pattern testing and explorations, but I am also really strongly feeling the itch to make other things. I’ve hit a point where my regular wardrobe is really starting to be quite worn or no longer fits, and while I’m supplementing with RTW, I have so many beautiful fabrics I want to sew too. I’m hoping that the later half of July and start of August will give me more time to sew so that I can work on all the projects I’ve been wanting to make.

It’s kind of surprising how much mental space sewing requires. I find it impossible to get anything done when I’m busy. Here’s to a calmer July!
