Monthly Sewing Review – 2025 September Wrap Up

I did get more sewing done in September than in August, but not as much as I would have hoped. I got a few things done, but not any pictures yet, and I’ve got one WIP that with any luck should finish up next month.

Sewing Progress

I finally started on what I’m calling the great LilyPAD patterns comparison project. I finished up pattern alterations last month, and started on the first project I’m making with these patterns – the Lamina.

I started with this pattern because (1) it seemed to fit right out of the envelope and (2) I paired it with an almost-my-skintone taupe colored kit that I was hoping to wear this month. Obviously, that didn’t happen, but I did get pretty far in the making of things.

Sewing Delays

Another month where other things have been priority. Next month is shaping up to also have a lot of unexpected priorities as well. I did watch a YouTube series about sewing in 20 minute chunks per day. I feel like I might need to see if I can implement something like that, because slow steady progress will be more of a win than no progress, which has been happening quite a bit this year.

Finished Projects

I did finish the two bottoms I made from the kit I used for the Lamina. Both are made from my TNT Craftsy self-drafted pattern, so nothing new there. I’m even re-using techniques I’ve used in the past, so this was really me just wanting to make the best use of the materials and have something I know will work for me.

WIPs & Upcoming Plans

The Lamina is my current WIP, and I can hopefully finish that next month. I’m hoping then I can move on to the other kits on my cutting table, and possibly sneak in the new pattern that LilyPAD just released since I’m really dialed in on the fitting for her patterns at the moment. I’m having an itch to get back to sewing other garments too, and I’m finding a few areas where my current wardrobe is falling a bit short at the moment, but I’m also trying to be realistic about time. Time and energy seem to be in short supply recently, so we will just see how next month goes.
