The Fall/Winter issue of My Image Magazine is here! My Image is one of the newer pattern magazine – this is issue #13 of their biannual publication. I’ve only made one of their patterns so far, but I love it and wear it obsessively, so I’ve continued to order their magazine, even though their designs have felt somewhat stagnant the past few issues. Happily, there is some good stuff this time around. It’s a nice mix of simple, flattering silhouettes and patterns with some fun details. Let’s take a look:
Here is a look at the line drawings – I’m particularly excited by M1657, M1659, M1660, M1663, and M1664. The other styles look like great wardrobe staples, but I’m intrigued by the patterns with a bit more detail.
M1651/M1665 – Simple sheath dresses. It feels like there is at least one of these in every issue, but they always flatter and act as a nice wardrobe staple.
M1656 – Another simple dress that looks great with leggings and boots.
M1661 – Perhaps not my favorite wrap style dress, but definitely something that could be a solid part of a winter wardrobe.
M1654 – Actually really love the shape of this dress. I think I want to make one.
M1662 – This long tunic/shirt dress looks like it would be very cozy in a nice flannel.
M1666 – This turtleneck sweater looks like it would be great for cooler weather.
M1657 – Love the drama of this top. Looks like the perfect piece to wear to Thanksgiving dinner.
M1658/M1665 – Not sure how I’m feeling about the tunic, but the simple fitted tee could be a total workhorse pattern.
M1652/M1655 – I wasn’t too inspired by the skirt drawings, but they have a nice drape on the body.
M1660 – Love all the details on these pants! I want to make some.
M1663 – Also love the button detail and overall shape of these trousers. Another pattern I’ll be considering for fall.
M1653 – Nothing overly exciting here, but you can’t go wrong with a simple blazer.
M1664 – Actually liking this cardigan – the more restrained waterfall collar is a nice feature without being overwhelming.
M1659 – Love me some trench coat! It is a fairly simple style, but that helps it look snazzy in all these crazy prints. Another pattern I’ll be adding to my every growing to-sew list.
So – what do you all think? Are you impressed with the wearability of the My Image designs? Or are you bored with their fairly simple styles? Or is it just too early to even think about sewing for winter yet? Feel free to discuss in the comments!
