Newsflash – New Kwik Sew Patterns Announced!

Kwik Sew has announced their latests patterns – you can check them out here.  Although they seem to be overwhelmingly geared towards kids and crafts, there were a few new adult patterns too.  No new skating patterns or athletic gear though (sadface).  Here were a few I thought were worth mentioning:

KS3941 – I wish this came in adult sizes too!
KS3932 – Color blocking trend continues.
Somehow this design feels a bit heavy handed though.
KS3950 – Another cowl neck pattern.
KS3933 – I love the little rosettes at the gather!

I don’t think I will be getting any of these patterns since they are so similar to ones I already have.  I was hoping for some new skating costumes, but alas for there were none.  Oh well.  Not like I don’t have enough patterns already….

  1. There does seem to be an extraordinary quantity of cuteness in this release, doesn't there? I kinda have a hankering for 3930, of course cause it is a jacket. For some reason I buy a lot of jacket patterns. Don't make em, just buy em. Love the color block dress too.

  2. I totally have a thing for jacket patterns too! I actually seem to make quite a few of them, but they take so long that my sewing can't catch up with the pattern/fabric stashing. Let's just say that the amount of wool coating I stash is totally un-proportional to the days of cold weather we actually get where I live.

  3. I thought I would respond to your comment on my blog here, so that you would see it. If you are interested in painting lace (or any fabric for that matter), I would highly suggest Jacquard products. Here is a link for them.

They have a few products that could work for you, depending on the effect you are looking for. Dye-Na-Flow is a paint that is thinner, more like a dye, hence the name. If you wanted several colors close together you would need a resist, like gutta. If you want several colors I would use Textile color paint. If you want metallic there is a lovely line called Luminere, it is gorgeous. There is also Neopaque which I have no experience with, but I am sure it is great too. The beauty of this stuff is, is that you can buy sample packs of about an ounce or two of the product and play with it.

This blogger just made a top and screen printed it with Luminere, have a look and you can get an idea of what it looks like.

  4. Ooooh, thank you! The whole painted lace might not be coming up for a while, but now that I have seen it I know it is getting done at some point. These links are awesome!
