I can’t believe this is the last post of the year! December has flown by, and while I’m ready to bid 2025 farewell, I can’t say that I’m entirely ready for 2026 to be here. But in any case, December was quite a busy month both in and out of the sewing room, so here’s a recap of a bunch of things that have been sewn but not blogged.
Sewing Progress
With my sister visiting, we’ve been spending much of December working on patterns for her. She has had a lot of challenges getting underwear patterns to fit, but we’ve lucked out with a fairly easy time fitting the Emerald Erin patterns and done some modifications to the LilyPAD patterns to get a good fit there as well. Thus far we’ve worked on:
Emerald Erin Tuesday Boyshorts

Emerald Erin Wednesday Cheekies

LilyPAD Kisa Knickers

LilyPAD Haru Knickers

Add those to the B,Wear Sigrid from last month and that’s quite an underwear drawer! Right now the Tuesday Boyshorts are coming in as a favorite and have already been made a second time, though I have to say I’m partial to how the Wednesday Cheekies turned out, just in terms of cute factor. She’ll be heading home with an envelope full of well-fitting patterns and a few fabrics she picked up to make them.
My underwear sewing didn’t stop there; I made six more versions of the Pin-up Girls Men’s Underwear patterns. I made four Michaels and two Lillebrors. I was planning to make all Michaels, but turns out when you have random scraps the Lillebror pattern pieces fit together better. Although my boyfriend questioned the styling of one of the leftovers, he was quite pleased with how the others looked. And if you are asking if I plaid matched underwear across multiple curved seams, the answer is yes, yes I did.

I will say that I batch sewed these and I think it gave me an even deeper appreciation for this pattern. It actually took me quite a while to sew all of these because the include so many curved seams that create amazing shaping that’s rather lost when they are laying flat on a table. But truly this pattern has some amazing drafting and I’m in even deeper awe of the style lines after having cranked out a bunch of these as a holiday gift.
Back to bra sewing, my sister also wanted help fitting the Sahaara, as her previous pattern was getting a bit large, and the Emerald Erin Black Beauty. She sewed the Saharaa herself with a bit of help from me, I’m happy to report that both are fitting really well, any my sister is excited to go home and sew through the snow days. We’ve got a few other projects in the works before she goes, but I’ll likely include them in my January wrap up. I’ll also have more detailed information about the Black Beauty in a separate write up at some point, but right now the goal is to make a few more before doing a review post.
Sewing Delays
Obviously the holidays take up some time, and there have been obligations outside of sewing that have needed attention, but I’ve probably been spending too much time on sewing this month, if such a thing is possible. I do need to be turning my attention to other things, but it’s been fun to get as much done this month as I have been, because it’s nice to get things off the to-sew list, fabric out of the stash, and get finished garments out of the sewing room.
Finished Projects
All told, I’ve done the majority of the sewing on the Tuesday Boyshorts, the Wednesday Cheekies, the Kisa, and the Haru, as well as sewing six men’s undergarments, most of a Black Beauty bra, about half of a Sahaara, and cut out a few other projects for myself that I haven’t gotten to yet. Small projects, but I’ll take 12 finished projects any month!
WIPs & Upcoming Plans
Currently I am working on testing the Black Beauty Bra in the larger size range (for me), and starting prep work on a few of the next patterns I want to fit. We are also trying to get a custom pants block drafted for my sister so that she can have a guide for fitting patterns this year, and are looking at trying to whip out one final Black Beauty Bra from another kit before she returns home. So far, I expect I’ll be traveling every month at the start of 2026, so this much sewing time is definitely not going to last, but even with that, I am hoping to work on my 2026 sewing goals soon!
