Monthly Sewing Review – 2025 February Wrap Up

This month has been super busy. It started with a lot of sewing and then turned into a lot of everything I had been ignoring while I was sewing, which has since turned into a backlog of projects to post to the blog. This is going to be a short post because I haven’t even taken photos yet, but I think it’s still good to do a short recap of the month for posterity.

Sewing Progress

I was able to finish my winter snowflake bra set which I had been planning since December and cut out and started sewing last month. This had been in a WIP state much longer than most of my bra projects, so it was nice to move it over to the “done” category. It was also the last project I finished before going hard into the Bee on a Wire Class.

I signed up for the Bee on a Wire class from the Bra Sewing Bee which was hosted in The Hive. This was honestly one of the best sewing classes and experiences I’ve taken. I was hoping to do a full post about it, but time really got away from me this month. In the class there were a lot of us that worked through the process of how to find the best starting fit for a bra pattern, how to identify fitting issues and correct them, and how to sew a final well-fitting bra. The teachers and support staff were wonderful, and I think everyone in the class learned a lot from working with each other. It was a very intense class; I went a bit crazy trying multiple patterns, but I think a lot of people either made multiple final versions of one bra pattern or made a few different patterns. There was much basting and ripping and adjusting and basting again to get the fit right, but in the end I have both four new beautiful bras and a new approach to pattern fitting that should be much less cumbersome than processes I have used previously.

I don’t have any pictures of my finished projects yet, but I will post full pattern reviews and re-reviews soon!

Sewing Delays

Thankfully I didn’t have too much travel this month, and I honestly did so much sewing during the Bee on a Wire class. The problem is that I put off doing a lot of other things to have all the time I needed for that, so then I spent the second half of the month catching up on the rest of life. I think that (hopefully) things will be off to a more balanced start in March, though I do have some big projects coming up!

Finished Projects

I finished the winter bra posted above, and four additional bras during Bee on a Wire. I have some matching underwear planned, so I’m hoping to finish that before posting all of the pictures and reviews.

WIPs & Upcoming Plans

Right now I’m working on finishing up the sets from the Bee on a Wire projects. However, more excitingly, I’ve been invited to teach a class on “Pattern Analysis – Projection” at the 2025 Bra Sewing Bee Main Conference! I will be preparing a recorded class that will be available during the conference, which runs April 3-6th, 2025. So I am definitely going to be spending a bit of my sewing time preparing my class materials and getting everything ready for the conference next month. I have rarely (if ever) done an affiliate partnership on this blog (and I definitely have no intention of pursuing a career as an influencer), but since I am going to be presenting a class, in this rare instance I am happy to offer an affiliate discount code to interested blog readers. You can use the code 2025DOCTORT for $10 off of the main conference fee at signup. So between getting caught up on blog posts and preparing for the Main Conference, March is going to be a busy month!
